Help other students like Constance

Hey,

We've all heard about Constance McMillen, the Mississippi high school student whose school canceled prom rather than letting her bring her girlfriend (she was then sent to a 'fake prom' while her classmates partied at a secret location). Well, there's yet another dark side to being a teen like Constance that you might not know about. It's illegal for public schools to discriminate against students based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex or disability -- but lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students are not explicitly protected by federal law.

There's a bill in Congress right now that would change that. I hope you'll join me in writing to Congress and asking them to pass it immediately.

Unchecked discrimination can lead to violence and suicide. These kids need our help. Thank you.
